The bridge: Latin roots, fast speech
Dutch has borrowed plenty of Latin vocabulary, and English adds another layer of shared roots. Those help you read and guess. The spoken challenge is rhythm: Spanish is often faster, less reduced, and more syllable-timed than Dutch. We train listening in real speech and practice speaking in complete thoughts, not isolated words.
