If you can read more Spanish than you can say, we give speaking enough room to become normal. We start with familiar situations, build reusable phrases, and gradually make the conversation less scripted.
The bridge: cognates and false friends
English and Spanish share thousands of Latin-derived words, which makes reading Spanish feel easier than speaking it. Pronunciation, verb endings, and a few notorious false friends bring the challenge back. “Embarazada” means pregnant, not embarrassed. We make those differences explicit, then practice Spanish as a speaking habit rather than a decoding exercise.
