The bridge: Latin roots, different stress
Spanish and English share a huge Latin-derived vocabulary, which makes reading and professional recognition easier. Speaking is a different task: English word stress, vowel reduction, and phrasal verbs do not map neatly onto Spanish. We use the shared vocabulary to move faster, then practice the parts you cannot guess.
